A 20-minute drive separates Fox Chapel High School and Ambrose Urbanic Field. For Emily McKee, the short distance opened the door to being able to watch Division I soccer on a regular basis throughout middle and high school.

The Fox Chapel junior had her sights set on going to the University of Pittsburgh from a young age. It’s close to home, her family would be able to visit, and the school has excellent academics. But she had a further goal she wanted to achieve: to become a member of the Panthers women’s soccer team.

That goal is now a reality. On Sunday, the forward announced on social media that she verbally committed to Pitt.
