A Huffman High School student killed in a weekend Birmingham shooting is being remembered as a caring person who loved to laugh.

George Camarius Daniel, 16, died Saturday after he and another teen were shot while they were inside a vehicle at an apartment complex on Huffman Road.

“He loved to laugh and play around and crack jokes and dance,” said Daniel’s aunt, Colethia Daniel. “Very handsome with a beautiful soul.”

The city’s East Precinct officers were dispatched shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday to a report of a traffic crash in the 1000 block of Huffman Road.

When police arrived, they found Daniel unresponsive outside of a vehicle. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced the young victim dead on the scene at 4:30 p.m.
