Westport School Committee chairman Christopher Thrasher is considering running for United States Senate and has formed an exploratory committee to gauge the feasibility of running for incumbent Democrat Ed Markey's seat.
Thrasher, 40, a registered Republican, said that while the effort is just exploratory at this point, his ultimate goal is to help find ways to make Massachusetts a better place to live, work and raise a family.
“The next revolution in American politics isn’t ideological; it’s generational,” he said. “Our representation in Washington is need of a deep transformation. The median age of the commonwealth’s population is 40 — exactly half the age of the current incumbent at the start of the next term."
