NORFOLK, Va. — A person is in the hospital after being hit by a school bus in Norfolk on Thursday, according to the Norfolk Police Department.

The crash happened in the 800 block of East Princess Anne Road, not far from Church Street, just before 1:30 p.m. A preliminary investigation found that the pedestrian entered the roadway and was hit by the bus, police say.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

Officials say no students were on the bus at the time of the crash.
