The weather stayed cool and comfortable during the B’nai B’rith 5k Health Run/Walk on the morning of Aug. 24, where about 70 people followed a course through the city of Pepper Pike, ending at Gates Mills Boulevard.

The winners of the race were announced following brief speeches from brothers and assistant race directors Bruce and Bradley Cohn, whose mother, Denise, inspired this year’s race route.

“It’s interesting that when Bradley went to the mayor, the mayor said, ‘Well, we need something that’s going to be a 5k,’ and Bradley remembered what her route was,” Bruce Cohn said. “This was one of the routes that she used. So, the route that you just ran today was just one of many that our mom used to train for thousands of races over the years.” Close
