MONTEVALLO, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Volunteers are expected to gather at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo to help clean headstones and beautify the grounds as part of a nationwide day of service marking the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The event is one of nearly 70 cemetery cleanups organized by Carry The Load, a national nonprofit that honors military service members and first responders. Thousands of volunteers are expected to participate across the country.
