WRIGHT CITY, Mo. - Drivers on Interstate 70 near Wright City may experience some major backups Thursday afternoon. Traffic stalled as crews respond to a vehicle fire.
The vehicle fire occurred Thursday afternoon in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near the 203-mile marker.
As of 2:40 p.m., There are significant traffic backups in both directions. MSHP is working to divert traffic at the 200-mile marker.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes if possible.
The traffic backups may impact commutes from St. Louis to the Mizzou Tigers' season-opening football game in Columbia, Missouri, on Thursday evening.
