The City of Owen Sound is one of half a dozen communities taking part in an initiative known as the Great Lakes Coastal Cleanup.
The city will be joined by Thunder Bay, Chatham-Kent, Collingwood, Cobourg and Kingston for the Sept. 28 cleanup, which is a project of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative. An $85,000 grant has been received for the initiative from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks through Ontario’s Great Lakes Local Action Fund.
