A man who stripped naked inside a Niagara Falls hotel while under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs says he has not used mind-altering substances since the event, court heard Thursday.

James Frederick appeared in Ontario Court of Justice in St. Catharines and pleaded not guilty to a charge of committing an indecent act.

The 44-year-old did not, however, contest the facts read by the Crown regarding what happened at the Wyndham Hotel earlier this year because he has no recollection due to a high level of intoxication at the time.

On Feb. 3, court heard Frederick entered an unlocked room at the hotel, stripped naked and began to “pleasure himself.”

When a security guard confronted the intruder and ordered him to leave the room, he invited the woman to get naked and join him.
