The bottles of Reid’s Vodka at the Glendale Avenue LCBO store in St. Catharines weren’t there a year ago.

But after LCBO pulled American alcohol off its shelves in March in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs, it turned to Ontario companies to submit products that weren’t available to shoppers.

Family-owned Reid’s Distillery in Toronto had been selling its gin at LCBO outlets since it launched six years ago, but its vodka was only available at its door until the “Support Ontario” call.

“It’s right there in the corner in the green bottle,” said Graham Reid, pointing out textured glass bottles on a shelf in Merritton’s newly renovated LCBO store.
