CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns and the Ohio Department of Transportation have been in discussions over the height of the team’s proposed $2.4 billion stadium in Brook Park, but it remains unclear whether those talks could lead to a compromise as a key deadline looms.
The Browns have until Tuesday to formally appeal ODOT’s Aug. 1 denial of a construction permit, a decision that backed Cleveland Hopkins International Airport’s objections that the proposed stadium height could interfere with the safety of air traffic to and from the neighboring airport.
“ODOT’s legal team has been in conversation with the applicant’s legal team,” ODOT spokesperson Matt Bruning said. “We continue to work toward the goal of ensuring that any concerns are heard, addressed, and resolved.”
