BEREA, Ohio – A Brook Park man, 36, was arrested at gunpoint Aug. 22 after he drove over sidewalks and grass fields and sped past red lights and stop signs while fleeing from police.
At about 8:15 p.m., Berea police were notified that Brook Park police were pursuing the man’s Volkswagen Tiguan. The chase had entered Berea.
The man was suspected of domestic violence. He reportedly was on his way to Olmsted Falls to obtain a firearm at his brother’s house, then return to his home in Brook Park.
Berea police spotted the Volkswagen heading eastbound on West Bagley Road near Beech Street. Olmsted Falls police were in pursuit. Berea police joined the chase.
The man turned southbound onto Seminary Street, driving the wrong way on a one-way road. The Volkswagen hit a car stopped at a red light
