KILLEEN, Texas — Most people think of fire stations as the place where trucks and crews wait for emergency calls, but at the heart of Killeen’s Fire Station 4 is a team that works behind the scenes to make sure every response is possible.
"They are, quite honestly, the heartbeat of keeping the fire department up and running," said Killeen Fire Chief James Kubinski. "They are the guys and gals who get the men and women on the operation side, the tools, equipment to be able to do their job."
The new hub for support services is located at 9200 Trimmier Road. The facility, unlike any other in Killeen, spans 41,000 square feet across two buildings and sits on nearly 15 acres in fast-growing south-central Killeen.
