As investigators continue to look for what caused a house fire on Hartford Pike in Killingly earlier this month, they say 75-year-old Kathy Samuelson died from her injuries.

Firefighters say the flames were difficult to put out due to extreme hoarding conditions inside. It’s putting focus on what help the elderly can get.

“We want people to know that help is out there,” Maura Cook, United Way of Central and Southeastern Connecticut senior vice president of marketing and development, said.

She said they’ve heard from many families about the struggles of taking care of their aging relatives.
