SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Barbara Badger, a volunteer at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), was selected as the winner of this week’s KLST Pay It Forward campaign sponsored by Carpet Tech.

"She shows up to work every day with a big old smile," said John, a friend who nominated Badger. "When she's having a good day or a bad day, you can't tell, because she's got a big old smile."

During the July 4 flood, Badger lost two vehicles on her property. She brought her animals, like goats, chickens and geese, into her home so that they were not in the rising water outside. Despite her situation, Badger went to the VFW to offer help to other victims.
