FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The convicted killer in a 2021 murder is now released to take in-person classes on a college campus.

Sergio Bonboster was stabbed to death nearly four years ago, but his brother Ramon Rodriguez remembers it like it was yesterday.

“When we pulled up, everybody was just shaking their heads – ‘it’s him,’” Rodriguez said as a tear rolled down his cheek.

Investigators say a 17-year-old girl stabbed him 19 times in October 2021.

Then, her 20-year-old boyfriend, Lawrence Madrid, Bonboster’s roommate at the time, mutilated the body.
