Threave Rovers warmed up for their Scottish Cup exploits with a convincing win over Cambuslang Rangers.
A 4-0 win at Meadow Park means the Castle Douglas side are second in the West of Scotland League second division with 13 points from a possible 15.
Boss Danny Dunglinson said: “We’d probably have bitten your hand off for that start but a start is all it is.
“There’s still a lot of football to go. It’s only a good start if you carry it on. We need to make sure it isn’t just a start and it drops off, we need to carry it on.”
Harry Officer’s goal gave Threave the lead at the break and a fine individual goal from Lewis Downie extended the advantage after the hour mark. READ MORE: Abbey Vale continue encouraging start to season with victory over Lochmaben READ MORE:
