The National Hurricane Center highlighted a new area of interest off the west coast of Africa on Thursday.
The disturbance is expected to become a tropical wave by Sunday, south of the Cabo Verde Islands, and environmental conditions appear favorable for slow development. Latest Forecast

According to the NHC, the disturbance will be moving across the eastern and into the central Tropical Atlantic at 15 to 20 miles per hour through the middle of next week.
The NHC said a large area of dust from the Saharan Air Layer can be seen to the north and west of the wave.
At this time, it's too early to determine what type of impacts, if any, this disturbance could cause.
