SAN ANTONIO — A man is fighting for his life in the hospital after San Antonio police said he was stabbed multiple times during a carjacking on the east side Thursday night.

According to police, a 37-year-old man was in the passenger side of a vehicle near I-35 and the Frost Bank Center at around 10:30 p.m. when he was stabbed in the neck, chest and arm while trying to defend his car from being stolen.

Officials said a woman, who was driving the vehicle, pulled into a Wendy's restaurant at the 700 block of Seguin Avenue off North Walters Street.

Both the woman and the male passenger got out of the car and the suspect took off in their car, according to police. The woman was not hurt.
