NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people were arrested Thursday in Naugatuck after a physical and verbal altercation between two employees and two customers, one who is disabled, according to police.
Police were called to Walmart at around 7 p.m. for several people physically fighting. Two customers, one of which is disabled and using an electric scooter, were shopping for clothes and asked an employee for assistance.
The employee, 45-year-old Shelly Alam of Waterbury, responded in a manner in which a verbal argument began between the two that escalated. Alam allegedly began to ridicule the other customer's disability.
When the customer requested to speak to a store manager, 39-year-old Robert McLaughlin of Waterbury, who is another employee, approached the customer and punched them in the
