CROWN POINT — A man admitted in a plea agreement to stabbing a 13-year-old girl in the hand last year at a Little League baseball game in Lowell.

Dimas Yanes, 27, pleaded guilty Friday to aggravated battery, a level three felony, for stabbing the girl in the hand Aug. 31, 2024, at the Lowell Bluebirds Softball Field, 17401 Morse St., according to the plea agreement. Yanes appeared in court with his public defender and an interpreter to submit the plea agreement.

Aggravated battery is a level three felony, which carries a possible sentence of three to 16 years in prison. The plea agreement shows the prosecution and defense will have the opportunity to argue the sentence they deem appropriate.
