NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — It was a packed house at the Jessamine County Board of Education building on Thursday night as board members invited community members to a special meeting to discuss the district's tax rates on real and personal property.

Ultimately, the board decided to maintain its current property tax rate of 67.8 cents per $100, generating more revenue for the 2026 fiscal year than the previous one.

Jessamine County Schools Superintendent Sara Crum said the move helps maintain steady services.

"It just means that we'll be able to continue with the same services that we've been providing for our students, and that we won't see such a dip in our contingency fund. We wanted to keep that at a level that would allow us to feel fiscally secure for the next few years. And so
