FARGO — Robert Gibb & Sons is celebrating its 110th year in business this year.

It is also marking a major change.

The Fargo company founded in 1915 has been sold to Peterson Sheet Metal, a company with headquarters in Bemidji, Minn., that also goes by the name PSM.

"We've been looking for just the right partner for many, many years. It's just a perfect fit," said Kevin Riley, who was president and chief operating officer of Robert Gibb & Sons prior to the acquisition and is now retired.

With the sale of the company, Gibb family ownership has come to an end, according to Riley, whose wife, Katie, is a granddaughter of the company's founder.
