FARGO — Visit Fargo-Moorhead has appointed its next chief executive officer to lead the travel and tourism organization formerly known as the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The organization's board of directors chose Shirley Hughes to succeed Charley Johnson, effective Monday, Sept. 8, it said in a release.
Johnson retires later this month after more than 13 years in the role.
Hughes brings decades of leadership in marketing, organizational growth and brand development across the travel, hospitality, sports and entertainment industries, the release said.
She most recently worked as executive vice president at Ryff Inc., an artificial-intelligence-based facilitator for product-placement marketing, and previously led global marketing and communications at R&CPMK, overse
