It’s highly unusual for an offensive lineman to make the switch to play quarterback, but Jayden Baum makes it look easy.

Before middle school, Baum’s size made him the perfect left tackle and defensive end all throughout his Pop Warner days.

Never did he think be a high school quarterback. Now, he can’t imagine anything but playing quarterback.

But that’s not the only transformation Baum’s made. This offseason, he committed himself to his body to be a better quarterback through more mobility and extending plays. He dropped 30 pounds, and enters his sophomore campaign weighing 200 pounds.

He put his transformation in NFL quarterback terms.

“I’ve always been a Big Ben (Ben Roethlisberger), like a Peyton Manning,” he said. “I want to become like a Josh Allen.”
