INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD Sex Crimes detectives arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly trying to rape two women on the Monon Trail .

Police said the first incident happened Friday, Aug. 8. Officers responded to a report of an attempted rape investigation that happened earlier that morning. Detectives learned a woman was attacked by the suspect and had multiple injuries. Officers located good Samaritans who saw the attack and intervened.

Then, around 5:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, officers responded to a report of an attempted rape in the Sutherland Avenue area of the Monon Trail, near Dr. Andrew J. Brown Avenue and East 33rd Street.
