Dozens of people in California have been sickened in a Salmonella outbreak linked to eggs.

Country Eggs LLC of Lucerne Valley recalled eggs over their potential to be contaminated with Salmonella on Wednesday, Aug. 27, according to a company announcement published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The recalled eggs were distributed from June 16 to July 9 in California and Nevada and sold to grocery stores and food service distributors, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention .

In California, 73 people have been sickened in this Salmonella outbreak, representing the bulk of those impacted in the multi-state outbreak that’s sickened 95 people. Illnesses date back to January and as recent as July, according to the CDC.
