SOMERVILLE, Tenn. -- A press conference regarding new developments in the murder case of Sheriff Buford Pusser’s wife will be held on Friday morning by District Attorney General Mark Davidson, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the University of Tennessee, Martin.

This comes after authorities received a tip in the case, leading to the body of Pauline Pusser, the wife of “Walking Tall” Sheriff Buford Pusser, being exhumed from an Adamsville, Tenn., cemetery.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the successor to the state agency that originally investigated the shooting, said the case remains active but unresolved.
