As Auburn football fans countdown to Friday night’s kickoff at Baylor, the Tigers’ offensive line will have its hands full with a Dave Aranda-coached Baylor defense.

Auburn coach Hugh Freeze said this year’s group is one of the best he’s ever coached. Despite this praise, early scrimmages against the Tigers’ defense during fall camp raised some eyebrows about how effective the group will be.

On Monday, Freeze confirmed that unit improved from the week prior.

“It will be interesting to see how we protect in this game with all the exotic blitzes that they have. — But I feel confident in who our guys are," Freeze said.

“I think what helps our offensive line more than anything is winning first and second down and getting in third-and-manageable situations where we can do both run or pass
