Fall weather is closing in; for the second night in a row on Aug. 28-29, parts of Michigan reported below-freezing temperatures — and more cold is expected overnight into Aug. 30.

Michigan's Upper Peninsula saw temperatures below freezing overnight on Aug. 28 following frost advisories.

" We had a chilly night last night across Upper Michigan last night! How cold did you get? Did you see any frost?" the National Weather Service based in Marquette said on Facebook as it revealed overnight lows.

The Baraga and Yellow Dog areas in the western Upper Peninsula saw the coldest lows at 29 degrees — with National Mine, Kenton, Cornell and Stonington reporting 30 degrees.

Overall, the warmest "low" reported was 39 degrees, according to the NWS' extended temperature records .
