If you’ve got county business or garbage to toss, plan ahead. Harris County offices will take a day off for Labor Day on Monday, September 1.

That includes:

The Courthouse

All county offices

Solid Waste Convenience Centers

The Solid Waste Transfer Station

Everything reopens the next day, Tuesday, September 2.

For residents with Monday trash pickup, your service is bumped one day later. Expect collection on Tuesday, September 2 instead.

So basically: no courthouse runs, no trash drop-offs, and no garbage pickup on Labor Day itself.
