Kitty Hawk License Plate Agency now slated to open on Sept. 4

After originally slated to open in late August, the new Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) License Plate Agency in Kitty Hawk will now open its doors at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4.
According to DMV spokesperson John Brockwell, the opening was delayed due to Hurricane-Erin related issues, the vendor needing more time to complete the installation of credit card readers, and the process of supplying “OBX” license plates to the office.
The operators of the agency are Currituck Chamber of Commerce President Josh Bass and Currituck Chamber Board Vice-Chair Denise Hall. The new facility,
