GARNAVILLO, Iowa (KCRG) - A Dyersville man was charged after leading officers on a high-speed chase on a motorcycle in May.

At approximately 9:12 p.m. on May 15, 2025, a Clayton County deputy attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle for a speeding violation on Highway 18. The driver accelerated to escape the deputy at a high rate of speed.

Police say the motorcycle was last seen travelling south on Highway 52 and reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour (mph). Officers were unable to stop him.

A Garnavillo officer attempted a traffic stop on the motorcycle north of the city, but the driver ignored the officer and led authorities on a high-speed chase.

During the police chase, the motorcyclist, identified as 37-year-old Justin Wiedner, of Dyersville, reached speeds over 80 mph in a 20 mp
