WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WETM) -- In 2026, racecar fans will be able to enjoy the annual Go Bowling at The Glen NASCAR race weekend in May after the recent schedule change. Business owners around Watkins Glen on Wednesday shared what impact it could have on the tourist season in the area.

The previous Go Bowling at The Glen race event was held in June 2025 and a year earlier in September 2024. Next year, it will run from May 8 through the 10th during Mother's Day weekend, and business owners said they were surprised and optimistic about the change. Stephanie Specchio, co-owner of Specc's Chocolates and Gifts, exclaimed that NASCAR fans are dedicated and loyal and will still attend the event.
