STANDING STONE TWP, Pa. (WETM) — One man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Bradford County that ended up shutting down a portion of Route 6 for many hours, according to information from Pennsylvania State Police.
Jody G. Travelpiece, 57, of Benton, PA, died at the scene of a crash on Route 6 in Standing Stone Township on Friday, Aug. 29, troopers said.
The crash happened around noon on Route 6, nearly 600 ft west of Rummerfield Road. Travelpiece's four-axle dump truck was loaded with large stones when the crash happened, troopers said.
Following an investigation, troopers found that Travelpiece's front passenger tire went off the right side of the road, causing Travelpiece to overcorrect and roll the truck onto the driver's side in the middle of the road.
