Rumored protests are sparking heightened security protocols for the home football game at Deshler High School on Friday.

According to WHNT , metal detectors and a clear bag policy will be in place for the Deshler High School vs. Hatton High School football game tonight. Plus, fans will not be allowed on the field.

Neither the Colbert County Sheriff’s Department nor the Tuscumbia City School District responded to questions from AL.com by publication time.

The rumored protests are in response to an incident that left freshman football player August Borden with a fractured skull and broken orbital bones.

There are conflicting statements on what happened to the 15-year-old. There were some reports that the injuries were due to a fall while others say a scuffle with another student
