FARGO — Changes could be coming to Matbus fares, routes and services.
The city of Fargo’s transit department is proposing changes that would take effect in 2026 if approved by the City Commission.
Matbus is looking at increasing single-ride fares from $1.50 to $2 for adults and from $0.75 to $1 for children, the elderly and people with disabilities. There would also be the option for riders to purchase a 7-day pass for $10 under the new system.
One of the main factors in changing fare prices, according to Fargo Transit Director Julie Bommelman, is that while the cost of everything from fuel to personnel has gone up, fares have remained the same since 2009.
