Chase County officials have launched a formal investigation into financial discrepancies estimated between $50,000 and $100,000 in the Chase County Treasurer’s Office. The investigation was triggered by concerns that arose when CPA Cindy Jensen was conducting the county’s annual audit.

“ I was contacted by Cindy that during the course of her annual audit, she recognized a number of irregularities in the financial records in the county treasurer's office,” Chase County Attorney Brian Henderson said. “Lots of irregularities.”

Jensen told Henderson she contacted Treasurer Dow Wilson for more information. Wilson initially said he would look into the matter, but since that conversation in mid-July, he has not responded or cooperated further.
