ARKWRIGHT, N.Y. — Environmental conservation officers issued three tickets for illegal dumping after a large bag of trash was found in a roadside ditch in Chautauqua County.

The investigation began when a local resident reported the dumped garbage on Aug. 7 in the the Town of Arkwright to wildlife officials. The person who sifted through the trash discovered a receipt from a campground in Ohio with a name attached.

When contacted, the individual initially denied any involvement, stating he lived in Michigan and had no ties to New York.

The complainant later found a pay stub in the same trash bag linked to the same person. The company listed on the pay stub was performing repairs on a break wall in Dunkirk.
