Thousands of parents and students attended Back-to-School Night at Pioneer Valley, Righetti and Santa Maria high schools, as well as the Mark Richardson Center on Thursday.

Families got a chance to experience a student’s schedule, meet staff, teachers, and members of the administration. Teachers were also available to answer questions about course expectations and academic progress.

“This is so very important for all parents and families,” said Guadalupe Rodriguez, whose daughter attends PVHS. “It was a wonderful experience.”

Righetti Principal Ted Lyon said the event was a great occasion for parents to “connect” with staff and visit classrooms.
