ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A reporter of an “armed shooter” on the University of Georgia campus is appears to be a hoax, according to campus police.
The school said the shooter was reported “in the area of the Main Library” just before 9 p.m. Friday.
Just after 9:30 p.m., UGA police said “evidence suggests a hoax.”
People are encouraged to avoid the area.

The report comes the night before the Georgia football team opens the season against Marshall. Thousands of people are expected to attend the game. Many have come from out of town to attend.
