EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State football took care of business for the Spartans’ season opener with a 23-6 win over Western Michigan on Friday night.

Michigan State jumped out to a 23-0 lead before a late pick-six thrown by MSU’s backup quarterback put Western Michigan on the board. Tate Hallock, who had the Broncos’ interception, transferred to Western from MSU.

Michigan State will next host Boston College next Saturday, Sept. 6, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on WILX-TV.
