MACON, Ga. — At least three colleges in Georgia reported calls about threats on campus Friday, reflecting a nationwide trend from the past week.
The University of Georgia reported a possible shooter on campus at 8:51 p.m. on Friday, according to a notification from the school's emergency messaging system .
Around 45 minutes later , the university said police were on the scene and had searched the area, and that "evidence suggests a hoax," regarding the reported shooter.
As of 10:39 p.m. on Friday, the all-clear was given on UGA's campus.
Another threat was reported at the University of West Georgia at 9:54 p.m. on Friday, according to text messages sent from the university's emergency notification system.
