MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Football season at WVU starts Saturday, but the Mountaineer Marching Band officially cut the ribbon on Friday for its brand-new practice field following years of relocations and delays.
The ribbon cutting marks the completion of phase one, which includes a turf practice field that is identical to the one the band plays on at Milan Puskar Stadium on game days. This new practice field is a project the band has looked forward to for many years after practicing in a parking lot for more than three decades.
Caleb Rowan, a first-year drum major with the band, spoke with 12 News about the difference the new field is already making.
