TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — In May, Idaho Power submitted an application to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC) seeking an overall rate increase of 13.09%.

“The residential customer, using an average of 900 kilowatt hours per month, would see an increase in their monthly bill of about $21.66,” said Adam Rush, the IPUC Public Information Officer.

The changes in price also depend on your usage as a resident or the size of your business. Jordan Rodriguez, a Communication Specialist with Idaho Power, said the rate increase, which is projected to raise $199 million , is meant to cover infrastructure projects and investments for the company so it can better serve its customer base.
