ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) - The cost of college is still on the rise and many students are looking for alternative pathways to secondary education.
Rock Hill Schools has partnered with York Technical College to offer students a dual enrollment program for the first time. Now, York Tech is welcoming new students that are still in high school.
Ja’Nyia Cunningham is a junior at South Pointe High School and wants to go into medicine. She’s one of 20 students enrolled in the new full associates degree pathway through the new partnership.
She says, “[To] have that little chip on my shoulder going into medical school and everything like that. So, I think it really just prepares me and sets me up for my future success.”
Owen Shene is a junior at Northwestern High School who wants to pursue chem
