A parent and two young children died when a car crashed into their vehicle Friday evening in Pontiac.

At about 8:20 p.m. Friday, Oakland County sheriff's deputies responded to multiple reports of a crash at Montcalm and Joslyn roads in Pontiac.

A 2022 Honda Civic driven by a 21-year-old Pontiac resident was southbound on Joslyn when it crossed into oncoming traffic and then left the roadway, a release from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.

The Civic struck multiple signs and poles and then reentered Montcalm, where it hit a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu that was stopped at a red light, the sheriff's office said.

The driver of the Malibu, a 37-year-old Pontiac resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers, a 4-year-old and 6-year-old, were taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital
