CLINTON, Conn. (WFSB) - Emergency crews responded to a fire in Clinton.
Firefighters were called to the area of Nod Road and Old Nod Road after a report of a large brush fire, town officials said.
The fire was contained and is expected to continue smoldering for several days due to the size of the burn area.
Officials said the fire was contained early on and never posed a risk to neighboring structures or the surrounding community.
This incident involved brush and wood materials, with no buildings or hazardous substances involved.
DEEP also assisted on scene to conduct an air quality assessment, they said there are no air quality concerns.
Town officials confirmed that there are no harmful or toxic substances in the air.
Authorities are advising the public to use caution in the area
