CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) — Those looking to reduce food waste and live more sustainably may want to stop by a free event being held in Corning on Saturday.

Happening Saturday, Sept., 6, the 'Saving Gaia' Composting event is set to take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Southeast Steuben County Library, located at 300 Nasser Civic Center Plaza Suite 101 in Corning, Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Steuben County announced.

At the event CCE Steuben Master Gardener Trainee Claudia Haile will teach attendees the benefits of composting along with the need-to-know basics, specifically skills to start composting at home, CCE Steuben described.
