SOUTHWEST Airlines has confirmed it is launching a new non-stop route to a popular vacation island.

It is the first time in four years that the airline has added a new international destination to its flight schedule.

But passengers will have to be patient as the new route will not be running for a number of months.

However, next year Southwest passengers will be able to fly non-stop to the beautiful Caribbean Island of Sint Maarten.

The new route will be launched on April 7, 2026, flying passengers to and from the island's Princess Juliana International Airport.

It will run between both Orlando International Airport, Florida , and Baltimore/Washington International Airport, Maryland , the carrier said.

The Orlando-Sint Maarten route will have one round trip per day from April
